Rescue Me ID: 18-04-17-00183Sokka (male)

Newfoundland Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sokka is a 9 year old Newfoundland/Border Collie mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his family lost their home. This boy is so sweet, loving and gentle; he has been a dream dog while in our care but now it's time to find him a new home of his very own. This handsome lug is great with people and good with kids over 5; he's spent his life being the best buddy to his humans. He has amazing house manners and is easy to live with. He likes to be pet, spend time with you but isn't 'in your face' about it. Sokka was not socialized with other animals so he is a bit usnure when he meets other dogs but within 24 ... (Read More)hours he and the other dogs in his foster home became the best of friends and spend hours playing in the backyard. We do know that he will need a cat free home and think he would do better as either the only dog or with another dog that is 40 pounds or over. Sokka is almost 90 pounds - well a little lighter at the moment since he has been shaved; so he need another dog that can play with him. He is house trained, crate trained and knows a few basics; he is pretty quiet though he will once in a while bark at other dogs on the other side of the fence. Sokka hasn't quite mastered walking on a leash. He doesn't pull your arm off just a curious sniffer, and walks in front of you, and all around you to explore. Sokka does have an allergy to beef and is currently on a food that doesn't contain any and is doing great. He LOVES to go for a walk and will need at least one a day; he is in great health and walks will help keep him that way. Sokka is really just a sweet dog who needs a fairly active family; if that's you fill out an application today! Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Sokka is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped Sokka's adoption fee is $75 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-17-00169Marie (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Kuna, ID Marie is a two-year-old Lab/Pit mix who first arrived in Idaho last October as part of a transfer of dogs to the Idaho Humane Society from a shelter in Texas. She was adopted in January by a wonderful man who understood Marie was a little nervous and insecure and tried very hard to give her time and space to become familiar with and comfortable in his home. Unfortunately, despite two months of his best efforts, Marie remained afraid of her new guardian, so he contacted Fuzzy Pawz for help in finding her a forever home where she could thrive. While she's been in foster, Marie has taught us several things about ... (Read More)herself. First, she gets A LOT of confidence and comfort from having other dogs around, so any potential adopters must have at least one other confident, engaging dog. (Marie has been living with four dogs of varying sizes and energy levels, and honestly seems to love every dog she meets!) Marie's former guardian didn't have other pets and found it very difficult to take Marie on walks or generally leave the house, but if there's another dog there she is much more willing to explore and cooperate. Second, Marie is more comfortable with women - she bonded to her current foster mom fast and hard. For this reason, potential adopters must have at least one adult female in the house - this is sort of a security blanket for Marie. Third, Marie badly wants to trust and love at least some men. While she never grew acclimated to her prior guardian, she did like his father, and in her current foster home Marie has shown strong interest in the adult male. Potential adopters need to understand that Marie will likely not be as initially trusting of or confident with men, and that it could take many months before she fully 'accepts' a new man in her life. They need to be willing to be patient, go at Marie's pace, and not become frustrated or take it personally if Marie exhibits behavior such as barking at them. Although Marie's activity level was non-stop her first few days in foster, once she got comfortable she calmed down and now has a deep appreciation for naps and snuggles on the couch with her foster mom and foster brother pups (and sometimes foster dad too!). However, Marie also still has plenty of puppy in her and enjoys playing with other dogs outside, wrestling on the couch, and checking out toys! Marie is potty trained and crate trained - using a crate in her forever home will be important, as it gives Marie a safe place to which she can retreat if she's feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed. In her foster home, Marie has been sleeping in her crate every night but hasn't chosen to hang out there otherwise. She also tolerates it well if she needs to be left for a few hours, but in her prior home she did begin chewing on the crate so she shouldn't be left for extended periods or put in the crate without first having an opportunity to burn off some energy. Marie has learned 'sit' and has shown she is a fast learner who's eager to please. She hasn't had much experience going out on walks - in her prior home walks were never successful and frequently required 'rescue' from a neighbor with a dog - walks with a trusted human and a dog buddy will be important for Marie as she learns to navigate the world. If you are looking for a new amazing friend and you can give her a bit of time, patience and an infinite amount of love then Marie is your girl. We'd love to talk to you about her just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Marie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Marie's adoption fee is $75 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-17-00161Xena (female)

Newfoundland Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID Four-year-old Xena is 80 pounds of love and awesomeness! This Newfoundland/Border Collie mix came to Fuzzy Pawz when she was not doing well in a local shelter. Soft and gentle in manner the stress of kennel life was just too much for her and she stopped eating. Now healthy, happy and did we say awesome Xena is ready to find a family of her very own. Whatever Xena's background some took some time with her; she is a great companion, super easy going, quiet and well mannered. All she really wants in life is to be close to her humans and to be doing whatever they are doing. But she's not overly pushy about ... (Read More)it and will go lie down when you tell her to but she would prefer to be wherever you are. While we have not had her around children we think she'd do well with kids 10 and over who are respectful of dogs. Xena has been fostered with other dogs, cats and even goats! She is good with the dogs both her size (another Newfie) and little (mini Dachshunds); she loves cats and has adopted a cat friend and they play chase. That being said she will now chase cats that run but only because she thinks they want to play with her; but she is very very gentle with them. She has been amazing with the brand new baby goats in her foster home and has proven herself trust worthy in any situation. Going for rides and walking out in the hills are some of her favorite things to do. After about a week with her foster family she has proven to be good off leash staying no further than 100 feet from her people. Her recall is really good with people she trusts. We'd really like to see Xena go to a home with people who have time to spend with her and a family that will take her places like walks along the river, hiking in the foothills, etc. She's pretty active and will need an outlet and time to spend bonding with her people. If you can offer Xena an amazing home please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Xena is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Xena's adoption fee is $150 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-17-00133Maxy (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Maxy came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his person realized she'd made a mistake when she bought littermates. As so often happens she had a bad case of Litter Mate Syndrome on her hands. This makes training very difficult and as the pair got older they began to fight (this is very common). Maxy's owner came to a painful decision that in order for both dogs to be their best selves they needed to be separated so Fuzzy Pawz agreed to find Maxy a new home where he could grow and thrive! At 11 months old this Maltese/Poodle mix is a lot of fun and loves to go for walks and play with his dog friends. He has plenty of ... (Read More)energy so an active home is best. He loves exploring in the yard and cuddling up to his people when he's all played out. He has lived with cats and is pretty good although he will try to play with them. He enjoys meeting new people and has an outgoing personality that will warm your heart. He knows several basic commands but positive training will be fun for both him and his new owner. He needs a little work on house training, but he is 90% there and with a schedule, structure and a wee bit of patience he will be 100% in no time. He would love to attend a positive rewards puppy class! Because of his small size he needs to go to a home with older kids or no kids so he doesn't get trampled or hurt. Maxy is fairly vocal so a home that understands small breeds with big voices is a must. Can you offer this sweet boy a loving home to grow and learn in if so fill out an application today! Russian Blue Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Emmett, ID Greggors is a shy, quiet, solitary girl who at 11 years old somehow found herself as a stray. After fending for herself for who knows how long a kind stranger trapped her and brought her to Fuzzy Pawz. When we could not find her home she was taken to a vet and given a safe/warm place to stay; now she needs to find a forever home of her own. This pretty girl kind of keeps to herself and is very low-key. She does not like to be held but will tolerate it is she must; she's better sitting next to you for pets - but of course when she chooses. She loves to look out the window and watch the birds and does talk ... (Read More)back to you when you talk to her. She is a sweet girl who just needs to learn to trust again. She would do best in a quiet home with someone who will give her time to come out of her shell. A dog free, kid free home is in order for her but she has done fine with the other cats in our cattery. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

FOSTER LOCATION: Emmett, ID River is a 2 year old sweet boy who came to Fuzzy Pawz from a local shelter when he was really sick. Now healthy he is ready to find his forever home. This handsome boy is cross-eyed and doesn't see very well making him a big grabby sometimes - he reaches out to grab things that are moving without really knowing what he is reaching for. As with many animals with vision problems he prefers 4 on the floor and panics when he is picked up. But let him come crawl onto your lap and he is the sweetest lover you will ever meet. Rescue Me ID: 18-04-13-00172Bindy (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Bindy is a super smart, cute little pup with a lot of potential. Unfortunately she had some rough times early on and/or was mistreated which has made her timid of people. After a month at her Fuzzy Pawz foster home, Bindy has come a long way. However, she is still leery when her foster mom (or others) approach her and prefers to initiate contact on her own terms. Bindy does love to cuddle and seems to enjoy affection once she calms down and realizes she is safe; really once you have your hand on her she is the biggest cuddle bug. The best thing for Bindy now is to find her forever home so she can start to build ... (Read More)long-term trust and know she is a loved member of the family at only about 2 year old she has lots of time to learn to trust. Bindy's forever family should be prepared to be very patient and consistent, especially with training. Bindy is not treat motivated, and she's generally scared of humans. Thus training could be challenging and may require creative techniques and/or professional assistance (Fuzzy Pawz can hook you up with their positive rewards trainer). Bindy does love to play with other pups and has learned a lot from mimicking and following her foster sister. We will require that Bindy's new home have another confident, active and playful pup. She loves to wrestle with the other dogs in the home, and they spend most of their days chasing each other, going in and out and in and out of the dog door, and patrolling the yard for trespassing squirrels. As noted earlier, Bindy is quite smart. When she is scared or nervous, Bindy's instinct is flee, and she's capable of climbing and maneuvering impressive escapes. Bindy's forever home will need a very secure yard, and she'll need to be closely supervised (and on leash) until she settles in. She will need a kid free and cat free home. Despite the cautionary tales, Bindy can be quite sweet, and it's heartwarming to see her start to come out of her shell. She is cute as can be and will be a wonderful companion once she gets past her fear. It's just a matter of finding the right fit! If you can offer Bindy a kind, loving and patient home please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Bindy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Bindys's adoption fee is $75 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-10-00297Lenny (male)

Basenji Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Lenny is a 2 year old Chihuahua/Basenji mix who has quite a year. Last spring, Lenny was removed from a hoarding home with a few dozen other dogs. He was relatively socialized so he was adopted soon after. Unfortunately, he was returned this past winter. Then, the Humane Society realized he needed surgery on his knees, and some time to resocialize. So, he was placed in foster care with Fuzzy Pawz so he could recover, and now he is ready to find his forever home! Lenny is quite active, especially now that his knees feel so much better! Once he becomes comfortable where he is, he is a goofy and sweet boy who just ... (Read More)wants to live his best life. He enjoys playing and wrestling with his foster siblings, and has been known to chase a squirrel running along the fence from time to time. He is learning how fun toys can be too! Soft toys are his favorite. He is totally potty trained and loves his crate. He happily stays in his crate while his foster mom is gone from the house, as long as he can see his friends. While he doesn't know any commands, he is eager to please and his foster mom has begun working on it with him. Given Lenny's history, it's not surprising he has some quirks. Lenny is scared of new things and hasn't had much experience going out on walks. The outside world can be overwhelming for him.l and he gets spooked easily. He will need continued training in baby steps to make him more comfortable with new things. Barking is Lenny's default response when he's scared, so his new home will need to understand his responses. Lenny is also much more afraid of men, than women, so he cannot go to a home with only men in the house. Lenny's ideal home would be one with at least one woman, but also one that has plenty of structure and consistency, as he thrives when things are predictable. He also MUST go to a home with another playful and confident dog so he can continue building his confidence. He is fine with cats, but children under 12 would scare him, so we won't adopt to a home with younger kids. If you think you can give Lenny the love, structure, and specialized training he needs, fill out an application today! Rescue Me ID: 18-03-06-00307Vinny (male)

Miniature Pinscher    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian ID Vinny is a 7 year old Miniature Pinscher (birthday- 11/1/2010). He is a very sweet and mellow dog that thrives on routine. He came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his family could no longer care for him. This handsome boy is not your typical Min Pin; he is a cute, quirky dog but fairly low energy; he is sweet and very mellow. He does not like loud, chaotic situations and gets easy overwhelmed. He'd do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12. He is good with other dogs and has lived with another Min Pin but would prefer to have another dog that has a calm energy like his own. He loves food, vacuuming up ... (Read More)crumbs on the floor, snuggling under a blanket, and belly and ear rubs. Vinny does enjoy short walks but usually very short. While he does enjoy snuggles, he often enjoys the quiet comfort of his kennel for a quick nap. Vinny is house trained and kennel trained. He knows very basic commands such as 'kennel' and 'potty outside'. He is good on a leash. Vinny has epilepsy and is currently on two different medicines given twice a day (morning and night) to help control the seizures. While his seizures are controlled this does not mean he doesn't have any. He usually has at least 1 seizure a month, and sometimes in clusters (1-2 seizures a day for a few days in a row). He has had epilepsy since he was 6 months old and his vet says he will always have it; but controlled it is not that big of a deal. His seizures typically involve him involuntarily going potty and shaking and foaming at the mouth. They typically happen at night when he is sleeping and has always slept in his kennel for this reason- plus he loves is kennel! New owners do need to be aware of the cleanup that is involved with Vinny's seizures. Vinny also needs his medicine levels checked (through blood draws) on an annual basis. He also does not have the best oral hygiene and needs regular teeth cleanings. Despite Vinny's epilepsy, he is a healthy, sweet dog with a lot of love to give! If you think you are the one to offer him a life of luxury please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Vinny has been neutered, vaccinated. Rescue Me ID: 18-03-06-00295McKenzy (female)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID McKenzy is a 10 year old Boston/Beagle mix who came to us because she was not doing well in a shelter environment. We were glad to take her in, and her foster family has quickly grown attached to her sweet demeanor and easy going attitude. Don't let her age fool you, this is a busy little gal that will do best in an active environment. McKenzy bonds easily and quickly with people; she just wiggles with joy whenever she sees a human. She was obviously much loved and very spoiled at some point, as she wants to be on furniture and sleep under the covers. McKenzy is house trained and knows how to let you know she ... (Read More)needs to go outside. We are told that she is a counter surfer, and can jump on the counter despite her small size. She hasn't done this in her foster home, but we do not leave food on the counters. We have seen her jump over a pet gate however when she was left alone for a few minutes. She will need a family where someone is home more often than not or can take her with them. She has separation anxiety, and while this is manageable we don't want her to go to a home where she's left alone 8-10 hours a day several days a week. She becomes highly agitated and stressed being alone and crated. It is possible to leave her for a few hours at a time and she's not destructive in her crate. With some consistency in her life this should subside within a few months. McKenzy is wonderful with dogs and cats, and would do best with a little buddy to pal around with outside will keep her busy. She is quite active and would love to go for long walks/hikes where she can really use her nose; but remember she will follow that nose anywhere so she is not an off leash dog and will need a securely fenced yard. Weighing in at 30 pounds this girl is solid and strong. She is decent on a leash, but will pull when her nose tells her too-and can she pull! This is a lovely little girl who will melt anyone's heart who meets her. She has a kind soul and needs to find a forever home who will help her feel loved and secure. If you can offer McKenzy a fun loving active home please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ McKenzy has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped McKenzy's adoption fee is $75 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-16-00300Toby (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Toby is a quiet, mild-mannered 1 year old boy who was abandoned in a local park and rescued by a kind lady. Now he's on the hunt for a new home rather than mice to keep his tummy full; Fuzzy Pawz wants to find him the perfect family! This good looking boy is very affectionate and his favorite past time is sitting in his favorite human's lap. He loves to sleep on top of the tallest thing he can find! He is a VERY sweet and affectionate boy! He has slowly warmed up to the other foster cats in his foster home. He is not aggressive with other cats and so with a slow introduction he would likely work out in a home ... (Read More)with other cat friendly cats, but would also be a great candidate for an only cat home. Oh we should also mention that Toby is FIV positive. Now don't freak out about this!! Toby is healthy and showing no symptoms of his FIV FIV is NOT a death sentence and FIV cats can live with other cats and not get them sick! Feline Immune-deficiency Virus (FIV) is a virus that affects a cat's immune system over a period of years. FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be spread to humans or other non-felines. FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. The virus can be spread through blood transfusions, badly infected gums, or serious, penetrating bite wounds. (Bite wounds of this kind are extremely rare, except in free-roaming, un-neutered tomcats.) Keep an FIV cat indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet and an FIV cat will live long, healthy and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. Now as we said Jaxx is healthy, happy, wonderful, amazing and loves other cats! So how about it - we know you want to offer this ever so handsome boy a place in your life! Toby is litter box trained, does not mark, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $25.00. If you feel you are the right person for this handsome boy please fill out an application at: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ (Less)
